Why not go out to eat at a restaurant with outdoor seating options overlooking the water?
Numerous restaurants in the region offer great food and gorgeous views of waterways.
Here are some of the options to visit this season:
■ Rudy’s Lakeside Drive-in in Oswego) is a local gem with stunning views of Lake Ontario and casual dining on fresh seafood, burgers and chicken.

■ GS Steamers also in Oswego serves salad, seafood, steaks, sandwiches and pizza, along with views of Lake Ontario. The restaurant takes reservations.
■ Waterfront Grille in Herkimer overlooks the Mohawk River. View boats drifting by while dining on pasta, steak, chicken, veal and more.
■ The decks at Harpoon Eddie’s in Sylvan Beach serve up seafood on a sandy beach along Oneida Lake.
■ Skipper’s Landing in Wolcott overlooks Sodus Bay and serves seafood, wraps, pasta and beef. Those arriving via boat can dock at the restaurant’s private marina during their meal.
■ Barado’s On the Water in Brewerton is a popular destination along Oneida Lake. It serves a variety of dishes, including fried calamari, southern fried chicken legs and sausage puffs. It’s open Wednesday through Sunday

■ Rooftop Cabana Bar on Lake George offers views of Lake George along with seafood, sandwiches, salads and pizzas.
■ Twisted Rail Brewing in Honeoye provides a terrace above Honeoye Lake and serves small batch brews, “bar food” and flatbread pizza, along with a few unusual options like deep fried green beans and, as a soft pretzel accompaniment, beer cheese.
■ Channelside Restaurant in Clayton provides views of the St. Lawrence River and a menu including salads, burgers, sandwiches, seafood and pasta.
■ Genesee Brew House in Rochester seats guests on the rooftop for views of the Genesee River. In addition to brews, enjoy salads, flatbreads, sandwiches, burgers and entrees.
■ Wolffy’s Grill and Marina in Seneca Falls) won a FLX Finest award in 2022. Its views of Cayuga Lake from the patio are unmatched. Dine on soup, salad, sandwiches, burgers and entrees. There’s even a “Little Wolffy’s” menu for the kids.
■ Castaways on the Lake in Webster provides guests with patio dining overlooking Lake Ontario. Seafood, salads, steaks, chicken, pastas and entrees are all on the menu.
■ Docksiders Pub in Hilton serves pub-style food with patio seating available that overlooks Braddock Bay. Try the “Anchor Plate” that offers choice of meat served over two sides and topped with your choice of meat hot sauce and onions. There’s also woodfired pizza and Buffalo chicken pierogies, served with a side of blue cheese.
■ Gilligan’s Galley in Kent overlooks Point Breeze on Lake Ontario and serves burgers, baskets, sandwiches, soups, salads and wraps. Don’t miss Taco Tuesdays!

■ PLAYER Waterfront Eatery in Lake George was renovated 11 years ago and rebranded last year, shifting from a sports bar to a restaurant. On the open terrace, enjoy views of Lake George while selecting from a menu of seafood, sandwiches, beef and entrees.
