Oswego.  Exploring Nature, Summer Program for Children.  Children aged 5 to 15 (by July1), will explore and investigate nature first hand through walks, activities and games. Come and examine life in the pond, explore the stream, observe the elusive swallowtail butterfly or find out what the beavers have been doing. Children may attend one or two weeks.  Rice Creek Field Station, Thompson Road.  $140 per child per week.

Rochester.  Corn Hill Arts Festival.  Hosted by the neighbors of Corn Hill and organized by volunteers, this event is a highlight of summer in Rochester.  Proceeds are reinvested into the community and surrounding neighborhoods.  Corn Hill.  www.cornhill.org. (585)262-3142.

Oswego County.  Oswego Pro-Am Tournament.  The Lake Ontario Pro-Am Tournament takes place in four parts throughout the summer in Western and Central New York. All four tournaments are conservation minded events designed to showcase the fantastic Lake Ontario trout and salmon fisheries. Utica.  The Boilermaker.  A celebration to promote health and fitness through fun activities and exercise.  Includes a golf tournament, health and fitness expo, three mile walk, youth run, 5K run and much more.  The event culminates with one of the best ranked 15K runs in the nation and a post-race party at the F.X.
